Mario Batali created a special menu to celebrate Magnolia Pictures’ “Tasting Menu,” which opened in the United States on Friday.
Batali hosted the dinner in a private room at Del Posto on Wednesday, telling guests he was inspired to create the menu by scenes in the film, which takes place on the last night of “the world’s best restaurant,” which is serving a final elaborate meal to guests, including a couple who booked a year in advance and have since have split up.
Guests, including the film’s director, Roger Gual, were treated to delicious courses such as veal and pork agnolotti with parsnip purée and chocolate espresso, followed by Delmonico steak with charred ramps, parmigiano puffs and tomato raisins.
