Giants co-owner and Oscar-winning producer Steve Tisch did a mitzvah for a team of Cuban athletes headed to Israel’s Maccabiah Games. Tisch was touring a synagogue in Havana in April when the temple’s president explained that the first-ever Cuban team was headed to the international Jewish athletic event but was in desperate need of funding. Tisch offered to buy uniforms for the team and its coaches — including outfits for opening ceremonies, recreational events and active sportswear. As a proud tribute to his dad, Preston Robert Tisch, the initials “PRT” appear on the uniforms’ right sleeves. Tisch told Page Six, “I’m thrilled these athletes are in Israel. If the community there again needs my help, I will get involved.”
