A prepubescent Justin Bieber admitted that he had a crush on Selena Gomez two years before they dated.
TMZ posted a KIIS FM interview back in July 2009 where the teen confesses his celebrity crush on the Disney star, even though she was dating singer Joe Jonas at the time.
A blushing Beebs – rocking his “Baby”-era shaggy sweep of hair – tells radio host DJ Skee, “I have a crush on Selena Gomez.”
He then squeaks, “No one heard that. Keep that on the DL.”
Less than two years later, the duo attended a Vanity Fair Oscar party together, and the rest is pop couple history.
The state of Bieber and Gomez’s relationship is currently up in the air since their breakup earlier this year. The two reportedly spent a romantic July Fourth together, but Gomez told Ryan Secreast recently that she is single.
