Lil Wayne and others have rushed to Justin Bieber’s defense after footage leaked of him making racial slurs as a teen. But not everyone in hip-hop has been so quick to forgive.
Lupe Fiasco is comparing the Biebs to Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
Fiasco told MTV, “I don’t think anybody should be allowed to profit off racism . . . Sterling made $1 billion [when] he sold the team, and there was such an uproar about somebody who didn’t use the N-word at all,” he added.
“I wonder if [Bieber’s] going to get the same treatment . . . I don’t think he will.”
Then again, Bieber made his comments when he was just 14 or 15, while Sterling had a history of alleged discriminatory practices.
Bieber has apologized for his remarks.
