There just isn’t enough room for two giant divas on the “American Idol” judging panel – according to reports Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are already at each other’s throats.
The two superstars “went at it” during the first taping on Sunday in New York, according to TMZ, with both trying to talk over each other.
The gossip site reported that when Nicki started critiquing a contestant, Mariah would interrupt, forcing both to try and talk over each other.
A source said despite attempts to gloss over the rivalry, “These girls just don’t like each other.”
It was previously reported that Mariah had thought she was going to be the only female on the judging panel, and when producers called her to tell her Nicki would be joining them, she hung up the phone.
Page Six revealed last week Nicki’s deal was finally done to join Mariah on the panel, along with country star Keith Urban.
