A squad of boldface relief workers — including Lucy Liu, editor Jefferson Hack, choreographer Stephen Petronio and the Art Production Fund’s Doreen Remen — has been helping jewelry line Erickson Beamon clean up after thousands of beads and baubles were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. “I’ve had the most glamorous relief team,” quipped Karen Erickson, adding, “There’s no pity party” even after her studio and offices were decimated. Her well-heeled volunteers have plucked a rainbow of beads from the muck and hung them to dry on West 27th Street. Also hit in West Chelsea were Balenciaga and Comme des Garçons. Erickson adds it’s “heartwarming, unreal, fantastic” to see people volunteer to help.
