Mark Cuban makes $100K donation for Sandy relief

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban donated $100,000 to help residents of Far Rockaway after his friend, Knicks reporter Jill Martin, spotted a Twitter message asking for help. When a tweet went out saying that local Church of the Nazarene needed “food and baby essentials ASAP,” Martin responded by delivering supplies and meeting with the church’s senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Les Mullings. Martin and her brother Jonathan then began collecting donations through charity KidCare, and also posted their own Twitter and Facebook messages. Cuban, we’re told, “wrote a check on the spot after bumping into Jill.” The mogul also “wants to stay involved and help develop a long-term plan for the community,” and Donny Deutsch and Katie Lee have also donated time and money.
