Katie Holmes and Suri had a scary moment when they were seated at dinner next to Halloween revelers dressed as them wearing “Free Katie” and “Save Suri” T-shirts, along with a man in costume as Tom Cruise.

Spies said Katie and her daughter were having a quiet dinner at Mr. Chow Tribeca on Saturday, when a group of friends dressed up for Halloween were seated at the table next to them. Two of the group were dressed as Katie and Suri wearing “Save” and “Free” T-shirts, and the other was a young Tom Cruise from “Top Gun.”

“When they sat down, they exchanged an awkward glance with Katie, but she kept her cool and didn’t say anything,” said a spy. “The embarrassed Halloween crew quickly covered up the costumes before Suri got a chance to take a look.”

Meanwhile, Halloween nearly went up in smoke on Friday when a decoration at a hot party at the Gramercy Hotel’s Rose Bar caught fire. A hanging haystack started smoldering at a bash hosted by Stavros Niarchos, Andy Valmorbida and Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld.

A witness told us, “The Fire Department [was] called. The doors were shut while the firefighters and security took the decoration down. A few girls thought the firemen were in costume and tried to drink with them — but they had to turn the girls down.”

Partygoers included Aby Rosen, dressed as an archbishop, Tico Mugrabi in a dramatic feather-plumed warrior costume, Andres Santo Domingo (a ghoul), Dori Cooperman (black swan) and Nicky Hilton (cute leopard). Also spotted were model Julie Henderson and Pace Gallery’s Sarah Goulet.

Saturday night, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lindsay Lohan held court at opposite ends of the Top of the Standard. Spies said Lohan was dressed up in a large floppy hat, red wig and glasses, while Leo wore a mask, but still hid under his trademark baseball cap.

But Leo certainly did have one partygoer fooled, who was overheard saying, “Wow that guy looks just like Leo — what a great costume!”
