Some thrill-seekers in a charity race called Escape for Good have found themselves stranded because of Hurricane Sandy. The race, which kicked off Saturday, gave contestants “24 hours to get as far away from the start line as possible . . . with no cash, no credit cards, nothing but their wits.” The event started at Milk Studios in Chelsea, where teams dressed in superhero costumes gathered. After the starting gun, some racers even managed to hop on flights to Washington, DC, and Miami. But thanks to Sandy, they couldn’t get back from various far-flung locales once the event wrapped Sunday. “The @escape team is stranded in Miami, all flights to NYC cancelled,” read one tweet. “3 more days here.” Judging by a photo, the team didn’t look too unhappy to be stuck at the Soho Beach House. An awards party for the race is being thrown Nov 6. In the contest were One Management models Chloe Norgaard and Carola Remer, as well as a team from Andre Balazs’ Standard Hotel.
