William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, finally joined the Royal Family for a late Christmas celebration after spending the holidays with the Middleton family.
The couple arrived at the Queen’s Norfolk estate Sandringham House on December 26, which according to reports was just in time for Prince Philip’s annual pheasant shoot.
William and pregnant Kate were seen going to church with the Middleton family on December 25, but according to the UK papers, the Palace requested that no pictures of her be published from that gathering. Their decision to skip the royals’ Christmas Day celebration at Sandringham was a break from tradition.
According to the Daily Mail, William joined his grandfather Prince Philip and other members of the Royal Family for the hunt, while Kate remained inside with The Queen who is recovering from a cold.
They reunited for a lunch at a lodge on the property, with other members of the Royal Family including Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Duke of York and his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and Prince Charles.
Kate was hospitalized for three days earlier this month with severe vomiting and dehydration, but according to witnesses has been “looking very well” over the holiday break.
It is believed the couple will soon head to Scotland for Prince Charles’ annual New Year’s Eve bash at his private estate in the Highlands.
