Lohan ‘grateful’ for freedom as she faces possible prison sentence

Lindsay Lohan says she feels grateful to be spending time with her friends and family this New Year’s Eve as she faces a possible eight-month jail sentence after getting her probation revoked.

The celebrity train wreck tweeted today: ”I feel very blessed to be able to spend time w/ my mom, family & very wonderful friends. Very grateful.. May only good things come this year.” She is set to ring in the New Year in London, where she plans to have a low key dinner with those close to her and hit the sack early.

A judge revoked Lohan’s probation earlier this month after authorities learned she allegedly lied to police about a car crash in June. She told cops at the time that her assistant had been driving her rented Porsche when the two slammed into an eighteen-wheeler semi in Los Angeles. Her former assistant now disputes that story, saying Lohan had been the one behind the wheel.

The “Mean Girls” star, who was on probation for a jewelry heist case, got slapped with four additional charges in November: Giving false information to a police officer, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty and reckless driving.

She has a hearing scheduled for January 15th where a commissioner will decide whether LiLo violated her probation and what her possible sentence could be.

In the mean time, Lohan has been spotted gallivanting around London, shopping in the high end department store Harrods, dining at celebrity eatery Cipriani and staying at the luxurious Dorchester hotel.

The 26-year-old actress told friends this month that she knows she hit rock bottom, but she doesn’t have the cash to hire a psychiatrist as she struggles to pay off her mounting debt. Charlie Sheen lent her $100,000 to help pay off her gigantic tax bill.
