PETA: No elephants at Brangelina wedding

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will NOT have elephants at their wedding, PETA has confirmed.

In a statement to Page Six, the animal-rights organization said it would be “out of character” for the wildlife-loving couple to have the gentle giants grace their upcoming nuptials.

The rumor mill buzzed last week after Lucille Michel, the couple’s florist, told the UK’s Grazia magazine that the Jolie-Pitt affair would be the Noah’s Arc of celeb weddings.

She said in sensationalist detail that “guests will travel past water fountains and Shetland ponies leaping as they go up the two-mile long drive to the house…When the guests park, they’ll see the family of elephants. Brad hopes it will make them smile.”

“Apparently, the elephants were the children’s idea,” Michel said, adding that there would be eight elephants to represent each member of the Brangelina family.

The rumors appear to have been put to bed as PETA writes, “It would be out of character for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt—a couple who clearly values family and has donated millions to safeguard land and wildlife in Africa—to have elephants at their wedding ceremony.

“They probably realize that elephants used as props at events and in other forms of entertainment are separated from their families, kept chained most of their lives, carted from town to town, and beaten in training so that they perform on cue. They know that sensitive, family-oriented animals deserve to live in peace.”

Rumor has it that the superstars are set to tie the knot at their Chateau Miraval estate in the South of France at the end of May.
