Soros’ ex hires famed divorce lawyer in $50M suit

A former daytime-drama star has hired a prime-time legal team for her $50 million court battle against ex-beau billionaire financier George Soros. Bombshell Brazilian Adriana Ferreyr, 29, has hired famed divorce lawyer William Beslow, according to court filings. Beslow specializes in combating billionaires on behalf of scorned women, including supermodel Linda Evangelista’s custody battle against French fashion CEO François-Henri Pinault, Marla Maples’ split from Donald Trump and Patricia Duff’s divorce from makeup mogul Ron Perelman. Beslow also represents Demi Moore in her ongoing battle with Ashton Kutcher. Ferreyr alleges much older Soros reneged on gifting her a $1.9 million Upper East Side apartment, and she filed suit in Manhattan Supreme Court in August 2011. Beslow is ready to take on the financier’s longtime power attorney, William Zabel, who has called Ferreyr’s suit “an attempt to extract a lot of money for a broken-up romance . . . from a very rich man.” Zabel represented Jane Welch in her divorce from GE chief Jack Welch. The Ivy League-trained lawyers will meet in court for the first time for a March 19 conference hearing, but Soros is not required to attend. Beslow declined to comment, and Zabel did not return messages.
