Lindsay Lohan’s prosecutors are not playing games.
Her court opponents are reportedly asking the judge to throw the book at the troubled actress and sentence her to the max 240 days in jail if she’s convicted in her June car crash case, TMZ reports.
If the jury finds her guilty, prosecutors want her jailed the maximum time for violating her probation from her jewelry theft case and for being a repeat probation violator.
Law enforcement sources told the gossip site that if the judge gives the maximum sentence, current formulas estimate that she’ll serve at least 60 to 90 days. That’s a far cry from the 84 minutes she spent in the slammer after her arrests in 2007.
The Santa Monica City Attorney, which is prosecuting the alleged lying-to-cops case, will not ask for additional jail time if Lohan gets the maximum sentence.
If she is convicted, she will be placed on probation for another two years meaning that she’ll be back in court facing jail time if she breaks the law again. Based on her past, that’s clearly a difficult task.
Lohan is scheduled to appear in court at 11:30 a.m. EST today, but she already tempted fate this weekend when she got off her NY-to-Los Angeles flight Saturday to stay in the Big Apple and party at a club, according to new online reports.
With no more red-eye flights heading west, Lohan called on a LA-based beverage company Mr. Pink for which she has made promotional appearances.
“Thanks Mr. Pink for the private jet see you all in a few hours in LA,” Lohan tweeted this morning.
Lohan’s private jet was diverted from Van Nuys airport to LAX in an effort to get her to her court on time, Entertainment Tonight reports.
TMZ reports that her planed landed at LAX at 8:35 a.m. PST. She finally showed up at the courthouse at 9:18 a.m., 48 minutes late.
