Miley Cyrus protests NY horse carriage drivers

Miley Cyrus is turning her attention away from her split with fiancé Liam Hemsworth by joining her family in protesting New York horse carriage drivers.

The starlet, her mother Tish, and sisters Brandi and Noah spent last night tweeting encouragement to sign a petition to free the horses.

Overnight, 5,000 Cyrus fans signed the petition putting the total to more than 100,000.

“You all made my mama and all the horses so happy 🙂 my fans really do come in handy xx,” she tweeted.

Mom Tish added, “I cannot believe this! I keep watching the numbers grow on the website! This is incredible! WOW.”

Miley and her family join outspoken anti-carriage advocates like Alec Baldwin, Lea Michele, Pamela Anderson, Kathy Najimy and Kristen Johnston.
