Rick Sanchez wades into NBC/Jenna Wolfe controversy on Twitter

As NBC wades through the PR debacle of Matt Lauer and Jay Leno, another move at the Peacock is being put into question.

Last week, Jenna Wolfe made a surprise announcement that she and NBC foreign correspondent Stephanie Gosk are expecting a daughter next summer.

Opening up another can of worms for the ratings-troubled morning show, former CNN anchor Rick Sanchez is questioning if Wolfe’s recent demotion was related to her announcement.

In November, Wolfe was bumped down to the show’s weekend newsreader after NBC replaced her with Erica Hill as co-anchor.

He tweeted, “Wonder if @JennaWolfe’s terrible demotion on @todayshow was b/c @NBC didn’t want a then soon 2 be pregnant lesbian to be cohost. I hope not.”

CNN fired Sanchez in 2010 after her called Jon Stewart a “bigot” and said that the network was run by Jewish people. He currently works for Spanish language channel MundoFOX, which is owned by News Corporation, the parent company of The Post.
