‘Glee’ star Lea Michele breaks silence following boyfriend Cory Monteith’s death – ‘Deeply grateful for all the love and support’

Lea Michele has spoken out for the first time through her representatives following the death of her co-star and boyfriend, Cory Monteith.

“Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans,” reps for the “Glee” actress said. “Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”

Michele, 26, had been dating Monteith, 31, for more than a year. She asked for privacy in the immediate aftermath following the actor’s death.

Canadian authorities said yesterday that Monteith died from a deadly combination of heroin and booze.

An autopsy was performed Monday and authorities expedited the results of the toxicology tests, which often take weeks to complete.

“There’s absolutely nothing, at this point, no evidence, to suggest this is anything other than the most sad and tragic accident,” said Barb McLintock, a spokeswoman for the services.
