The autopsy of Cory Monteith has been put on the fast track due to “intense public interest.”

The popular “Glee” star was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday. A Vancouver Police Dept. source told tells E! News that the results of the autopsy will be revealed early this week.

“Due to the intense public interest, the toxicology will be expedited,” the source explained, adding the results are expected “in 2 or 3 days.”

A spokesman for the Vancouver Police Dept. said the 31-year-old actor’s body is currently at the city morgue.

Coroner Barb McLintock told Sun News, “Given the particular high-profile nature of this case, once that decision’s made, we’re going to try to get it done as soon as possible.”

She explained that the type of autopsy to determine the cause of death depends on the information gathered from his recent history and medical records.

“We know he was in rehab,” McLintock said.
