“Dr. Doom” economist Nouriel Roubini has been forced to remove his giant hot tub — famed for being packed with hot young models at his wild parties — from the roof of his Manhattan penthouse by the city.

Roubini, dubbed Dr. Doom for predicting the financial crisis, ran afoul of the Department of Buildings after he did not get approval for the tub, large enough to hold 10, and the wooden roof deck he had built at his East First Street bachelor pad for his boisterous bacchanals.

Now Roubini has been slapped with a violation and was ordered to remove the Jacuzzi, the deck and a party room he built, complete with a bar and bathroom, on the roof of his party penthouse.

Buildings Department spokesperson Kelly Magee told Page Six, “The department inspected in response to a complaint on 2/5/13 and issued a violation for operating the roof contrary to its approved use. The roof is approved for use as a terrace according to the building’s certificate of occupancy.” She added the violation was issued to co-op board president Egil Rostad, a $600 fine was paid and a certificate of correction submitted to the department.

Roubini, 55, is notorious for his parties at what New York magazine called his “vagina-walled downtown loft,” a triplex he bought in 2010 for $5.5 million. He bullishly boasted to the mag, “The recession has been great for me.”

Of the many models who attend his bashes, “They love my beautiful mind,” he told the magazine. “I am ugly, but they’re attracted to the brains. I’m a rock star among geeks, wonks and nerds.” And what makes his parties so great are “fun people and beautiful girls,” Roubini said. “I look for 10 girls to one guy.”

A source tells us the hot tub turmoil might have bubbled up after a neighbor complained to the city about Roubini’s rampant bashes. But the setback won’t likely deter him. The source added, “The parties will still go on. Knowing him, he’ll just move the hot tub inside.”

Kimberly Nisbet, chief of staff at Roubini Global Economics, declined to comment.
