Lisa Kudrow is a comedy genius — this was proved with “Friends,” “Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion” and “The Comeback.” But I have to stick up for David Schwimmer, an actor who gets raked over hot comedy coals for being the least “gifted” actor on the show all the time.
I find this to be categorically untrue. Ross was the worst, which kind of makes David the best. And the two tapped into one another’s timing whenever paired in a scene. My favorite example of this is when Ross was learning to play the bagpipes for Chandler & Monica’s wedding and put on an impromptu performance.
I distinctly remember laughing to the point of tears the first time I saw this — especially since it was clear that Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow couldn’t get through the scene either since the version that aired shows them both visibly laughing.
