Pint-sized Kate to be released to the masses

Wach your back, Barbie — there’s a new doll in town.

The Franklin Mint announced that it will be releasing a 16-inch doll of bride-to-be Kate Middleton, as she looked on the day the couple announced their engagement, according to several reports. But it gets better: A version of the future princess in her wedding garb will be released after the big April 29 wedding day.

“The memorabilia will be much more available in the world market just because you can buy things on the internet,” says Franklin Mint chief operating officer Gwynne Gorr. “It will have a positive impact on the merchandising of this event.”

Only 5,000 of the dolls will be released worldwide.
