Bride-to-be Kate Middleton will soon have one more responsibility to add on to her list as a future royal, according to a new report.

Middleton will serve as the new royal representative at Wimbledon, according to the Daily Mail. Word is that palace aides want Kate for the role because she’ll bring some glamour to the annual matches.

“Catherine will want to be affiliated with charities and patronages which she is passionate about and Wimbledon would be a perfect fit,” a royal source told the paper.

Close friends agree Kate is the woman for the job.

“Kate adores everything about tennis and would love to have an official role at Wimbledon,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

Middleton, a tennis player herself, may even take over trophy presenting duties from the Duke of Kent, according to the report.

“The Duke of Kent does a sterling job and there’s certainly no talk of him being axed, but there is a suggestion that Kate could present the trophy at the ladies’ finals,” the royal source said. “She will certainly be seen in the Royal Box in the future.”

The palace is remaining mum for now, saying only, “It’s too early to say. There are a lot of possibilities for Catherine.”
