Amanda Bynes’ parents ‘to tell judge they’re worried she’s in serious danger’

Amanda Bynes’ parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, were reportedly shut down in their bid to seek temporary conservatorship of their troubled 27-year-old daughter.

TMZ reports that the judge said there was no need to rush the process while Amanda is being held for the next two weeks in the psych ward under involuntary 5150 hold.

In conservatorship request documents obtained by the gossip site, Bynes’ parents say Amanda is ”extremely paranoid about being watched” and allegedly covers smoke alarms and windows because she fears people are watching.

They added that she has “profound issues with her body image” and is “obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly.”

Her parents also believe, according to TMZ, that Amanda has a substance abuse problem, and has allegedly spent a significant amount of money on illegal substances. They say she had $4 million in the bank, but has blown $1.2 million, including single-day withdrawals of $100,000 on June 4 and July 2.

Meanwhile, Amanda’s lawyer reportedly just filed legal documents asking the judge to release her from her forced hospitalization.

In an earlier report, Lynn and Rick’s lawyer Tamar Arminak tried to convince the judge this morning that they believe Amanda is “in serious danger and could cause physical harm to herself,” their sources said.

The gossip site’s sources added that Amanda’s alleged driveway blaze on Monday – in which she reportedly set her own clothing on fire and accidentally doused her pet dog in gasoline – was used as grounds that she’s in imminent danger of physically harming herself.

Lynn and Rick reportedly argued that Amanda’s mental illness (as she may be showing signs of schizophrenia) makes her unable to make sound financial decisions.

They reportedly told the judge they are prepared for Amanda to move back into their Thousand Oaks home and provide care for her. Until her trip back to her hometown in California, the 27-year-old star had been hopping from location to location while living in New York.

If their temporary conservatorship is granted, it’s said Lynn and Rick will then immediately file for permanent conservatorship, similar to the one created for Britney Spears in 2008 by the pop singer’s father, James.

The “Easy A” star is currently at the Hillmont Psychiatric Center in Los Angeles. She was initially placed on involuntary 5150 hold for 72 hours but a judge reportedly granted a request to extend her mental health evaluation by two weeks to properly diagnose her.

Law enforcement officials told TMZ that she will not be charged with a crime, and that police and prosecutors view her conduct as non-criminal.
