Rihanna reportedly fined $47K for being a repeat no-show in court

Rihanna’s ex-accountants at Berdon LLP have penalized the singer for wasting their time in their ongoing legal battle.

The “Stay” singer is suing the Manhattan-based accountancy firm over allegations they mismanaged her money and owe her millions. She claims Berdon’s bookkeeping led the IRS to audit her.

However, according to the ex-accountants, RiRi has been blowing off deposition after deposition, running up the defendants’ legal bills, TMZ reports.

According to the gossip site, Rihanna has now been fined $47,050 by a New York City judge. The judge has additionally ordered her to sit for a deposition on Aug. 28, and if she fails to show, the case might be dismissed entirely.

The Post reported last week that the diva popstar claimed she was too ill to sit for her depo after Berdon lawyers flew all the way to London to question her.

Rihanna later had her people inform the attorneys that she was too unwell to answer questions that day, but she may have actually been up all night London time watching Lebon James and the Miami Heat play game six of the NBA finals.

The lawyers for Berdon were furious at the sudden cancellation and went to court to complain that she had sent them on a “wild goose chase.” She has also pushed back a deposition originally set for no later than April 19 in Los Angeles to the middle of May — and then nixed that because of a concert at Barclays Center.

Rihanna is currently globe-hopping on her “Diamonds” world tour. Incidentally, she has no scheduled concert performances in August.
