DJ Khaled has asked for Nicki Minaj’s hand in marriage in a video message via MTV. The weirdest part? There are no reports of them dating.
With cheesy elevator music playing in the background, the 37-year-old music exec looks straight at the camera and says, “I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine.”
“The only reason I’m not telling you this face to face is because I know that you’re busy…You need a man like me in your life that’s gonna take care of you and respect you,” he continues. “You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand… but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me.”

“I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring… Nicki Minaj… will you marry me?”
He then holds up a 10 karat radiant cut ring from Rafaello & Co. worth a half-million bucks, according to MTV News estimates.
Khaled and Minaj are on the same record label Young Money and recently worked together on Busta Rhymes’ latest track, “Twerk It.”
The “Starships” rapper, who is reportedly dating Safaree Samuels, has yet to publicly respond to the proposal. However, she did retweet a link to the video on her Twitter.
No word yet if the proposal is sincere or a bizarre publicity stunt, but word has certainly gotten out. “DJ Khaled” is currently trending on Twitter and his proposal has birthed endless jokey memes, including many that feature Minaj’s ex, Drake.
