Who knew A-listers cared so much about the race for city comptroller? Scott Stringer — whose opponent Eliot Spitzer has gotten all the headlines lately — is having a fund-raiser Aug. 6 at the Maritime Hotel, hosted by Lena Dunham, Scarlett Johansson and “Blue Jasmine” star Bobby Cannavale. Others on the event’s host committee include hotelier Sean MacPherson, jewelry designer Pamela Love and Laura Brown of Harper’s Bazaar. ScarJo’s twin, Hunter, worked for Stringer, and she’s previously hosted events for the pol at the Plaza and Jane Ballroom. Stringer’s spokeswoman, Audrey Gelman, starred on Dunham’s “Girls” and routinely rubs elbows with the city’s hippest habitues.
