In one of last season’s most heartbreaking finales, Olivia Dunham was left screaming for mercy in a dark cell while Walternate callously walked away and BOlivia assumed her place alongside Peter & Walter’s side back in our reality.
For those of you just joining the conversation, none of that makes sense. For “Fringe’s” loyal fans, it’s the set-up for the always brilliant series’ best year yet.
With both realities actively in play, season three promises to blow our minds, which is a bold statement for a show that’s constantly mind-bending to begin with. And with the September 23 premiere mere weeks away, we’re getting some sizeable glimpses of what to expect.
Most of the new footage focuses on Olivia’s predicament, which is only worsened by the presence of a psychiatrist who clearly thinks she’s nuts. Or is actively trying to make Olivia question her sanity.
But being the endlessly self-sufficient woman she is, Olivia eventually escapes Walternate’s prison, but without someone’s help, she won’t be able to return to her world and reclaim her life. One a newly blonde BOlivia has seamlessly transitioned into.
