Sometimes a good pop song can be born from a single, solitary word. Just ask Madonna and her iPod staple-tracks like “Frozen,” “Music,” “Jump” and the momma of all singular songs, “Vogue.”

This week’s fave five consists of the mono moniker music that kept my weekend drenched with rump shakin’ excitement. I thought you may be able to utilize them on your next summer excursion and/or private shower dance-stravaganza.

The grand Marshall of the gang is Alexis Jordan with “Happiness” — she also earns the award for most played. Nipping at her heels are a new Kelis track “Brave” and diva anthem “Limousine” from Lolene. The fourth fave — Sleigh Bells’ “Kids” — is filled with explosive slide-chords and vodox-vocals while The National’s “Runaway” promises to linger in the atmosphere hours after it’s played.
