I brought you the news. I brought you the exclusive interview. And now I’m bringing you the first clip of Holly Marie Combs’ triumphant, overdue and highly anticipated return to television. Her official comeback kicks off with the series premiere of “Pretty Little Liars” on June 8 (8pm, ABC Family), but one of her scenes has made its way online earlier and naturally I had to pass it along.
In the clip Holly’s character, Ella, shares a glass of wine with her husband Byron (played by Chad Lowe). But don’t plan to watch this pleasant pairing for long since Holly revealed to PopWrap one of the ways the show will diverge from the books.
“Ella’s husband doesn’t have an affair till the second book and we have that in the first episode. We’re expediting storylines. And from what I heard, they get divorced and Ella begins dating younger men. Which kind of horrifies me.”
Meanwhile Hollywood’s “younger male actors” have been lined up for weeks, awaiting news of an open audition.
