On Feb. 2, 2010, Jack Dawson was dethroned as the King of the World by a society of other-worldly creatures.

The $2.7 million that “Avatar” earned yesterday pushed it past “Titanic” to be the new No. 1 movie of all time, it was announced today.

With $601,141,551, James Cameron’s tale of blue-faced aliens eclipsed the $600,788,188 James Cameron’s tale of blue-lipped shipwreck survivors earned in 1997. Also of note, it only took “Avatar” 47 days to soar past the $600 million mark, while “Titanic” required 252 days to hit the milestone.

What I want to know is, who was the guy that put “Avatar” over the top? The theoretical 1-millionth customer?

Which film was better: “Avatar” or “Titanic?”
