Although my choices for Best Movies of the Decade aren’t ranked, I wanted to call special attention to my favorite movie of the last ten years: “Memento.” From the first moment I experienced this mindf*** in 2000 I have spent countless hours rewatching Christopher Nolan’s finest film in search of new moments, glances and hints of what’s to come.
The amazing thing is that each time I replay the movie, I actually find something new. That’s the most remarkable thing about the writing, the direction and the acting — it’s so multi-layered that “Memento” truly requires multiple viewings to fully digest every delicious ounce.
So, if PopWrap’s list of the 25 best films of this soon-to-depart decade were ranked, “Memento” would be sitting pretty at #1. But the idea of ordering these 25 stellar cinematic achievements was just a little too daunting. So without further ado…
