Artist David LaChapelle says he turned Kanye West onto Jesus years before the rapper called his album “Yeezus” or had a Christ look-alike onstage at concerts.
LaChapelle photographed West wearing a crown of thorns for a 2006 Rolling Stone cover with the headline, “The Passion of Kanye West.”
“That was my idea,” LaChapelle says in a new interview with art publication Flatt.
“I guess I planted a seed there. He certainly took that idea and ran with it.”
