Chris Christie wasn’t bothered about being the punch line for some of Joel McHale’s jokes at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The New Jersey governor seemed to enjoy being roasted by McHale, whose jabs included, “Do you want bridge jokes or size jokes? ‘Cause I’ve got a bunch of both. I could go half and half. I know you like a combo platter.”
Christie appeared in good spirits at the Vanity Fair and Bloomberg after-party, where he mingled until after 3 a.m.
He and McHale even mugged together at Mark Seliger and Facebook’s portrait studio, where a spy tells us, “It was all very friendly. Mark had just finished shooting De Niro, so they were both doing De Niro impressions … They did a little play-fighting, and Christie put Joel in a headlock.”
Other guests at the Graydon Carter-hosted bash at the Italian Ambassador’s residence included Eric Holder, Valerie Jarrett, Patrick Stewart, Sofía Vergara, Julianna Margulies, Biz Stone, Lindsay Vonn, Gloria Estefan, Linda Evangelista, Katie Couric, Charlie Rose and Fred Armisen.
