Floyd Mayweather‘s vile social media revelation that he broke up with ex-fiancée Shantel Jackson after she terminated a pregnancy might have been motivated by jealousy.
The boxer, 37, is reportedly “heartbroken” after learning his former flame has gotten together with old buddy Nelly, according to TMZ.
A source told the website that the trouble-prone welterweight felt betrayed after learning that his ex had taken up with a member of his inner circle, and that’s what prompted his social media outburst.
In the since-deleted post, Mayweather claimed he broke up with Jackson after learning she had had an abortion, and posted an image of an ultrasound along with the accompanying medical paperwork.
“The real reason me and Shantel Christine Jackson @missjackson broke up was because she got a abortion, and I’m totally against killing babies. She killed our twin babies,” he wrote, posting the message on both Facebook and Instagram.
The controversial boxer gave Jackson a $10 million diamond ring when they got engaged in 2013; they later split after four years together.
While the post caused widespread revulsion, one Mayweather fan in particular wasn’t bothered by the boxer’s behavior.
Early Friday, Justin Bieber posted a video of himself getting pedicures and massages with the pugilist before Mayweather’s WBC welterweight championship defense against Marcos Maidana on Saturday night.
