Michelle Obama dines with poet Elizabeth Alexander

First lady Michelle Obama was spotted at David Bouley’s Brushstroke in Tribeca Wednesday with poet and Yale professor Elizabeth Alexander.

At President Obama’s 2009 inauguration, Alexander read a poem she wrote for the occasion.

We’re told she and the first lady enjoyed a full Japanese kaiseki meal, and the star chef also brought over dishes from his namesake restaurant across the street as “a special treat to thank Michelle for all the work she’s doing with healthy-eating initiatives for children.”

Bouley’s chefs also signed a bamboo wine cooler for her as a gift. On Thursday, she and Obama attended the dedication of the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
