British actress Carey Mulligan has an “amazing future” after receiving huge plaudits for her lead role in “An Education.” Director Lone Scherfig picked up the award for Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards and backstage said of the Oscar-nominated actress, who is now making “Wall Street 2” and dating co-star Shia La Beouf: “I don’t know what Meryl Streep was like at her age . . . I think that it is really important to not compare her with other actresses because what she can do is something that only she can do.”
