Baroness von Langendorff’s history of beguilement

Baroness von Langendorff, the buxom red-haired widow being sued by the relatives of Nepalese diplomat Shail Upadhya, has a long history of beguiling wealthy men.

As The Post reported over the weekend, the impoverished relatives of the diplomat-turned-fashion designer claim the baroness swindled Upadhya into willing his $5 million fortune to her.

Before she married Baron Walter Langer von Langendorff — the Austrian who created the hugely popular White Shoulders perfume — the baroness was, according to legend, admired and pursued by some of the richest, most powerful men in the world, including Averell Harriman.

Those men might be the source of her incredible jewel collection, but the New York Social Diary reports she might have bought the gems herself “because she is known as a veddy veddy shrewd businesswoman — and a very clever negotiator.”

Poor Upadhya, who died in January 2013 at the age of 79, might not have been able to resist her charms.
