Madonna has confessed to kissing rapper Nicki Minaj after “a few sips of champagne.”
In an interview with Anderson Cooper to air tomorrow, the Material Girl talks about collaborating with both Minaj and M.I.A. on her track, “Give Me All Your Luvin.’” When Cooper asked if she had in fact kissed Minaj on the set of the football-themed video, as Minaj had tweeted, Madonna appeared flustered for a moment.

“It was her birthday, so just fill in the blanks,” she said, before giving more details. “No, it was her birthday and it was actually the end of one of those long days of shooting and we were all giving a birthday toast to her. After a few sips of champagne I kissed her, yes.”
Cooper responded, “I’ve got a bunch of people in the audience whispering to me that it’s their birthday as well.”
Minaj had let the cat out of the bag on the kiss in early December, when she and M.I.A. shot the football-themed video for Madonna’s latest single. “OH MY f’ingggg Gahhhh!!!!! MADONNA jus kissed me!!!!! On the lips!!!!!!! ” Minaj wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter. “It felt sooooo good. Soooo soft!!!! *passes out* aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!”
In the interview, Madonna tells Cooper that she greatly admires both Minaj and M.I.A.
“I’m a fan of their music but also I like their independence, their spirit,” Madonna said. “They’re cheeky and unique and they have individual voices. They’re not conventional pop stars and I really admire them both. I love both of them actually’.
Perhaps there will be a three-way kiss between the artists when they perform together at the Super Bowl this weekend. After all, Madonna famously kissed both Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2003.
