There was a huge scramble to find Snoop Dogg some dry socks after he got soaked at the DirecTV Beach Bowl in Indianapolis Saturday. Snoop put in a shockingly athletic performance, and followed with celebratory dances he dubbed “Pee on the Tree” (imagine a dog raising its leg) and “Do It To Me” (which cannot be described in a family newspaper). The rapper’s performance won him the coveted MVP award, and he told us, “People are telling me they didn’t know I was that athletic. I didn’t know I was athletic either.” But he wasn’t overjoyed when his teammates gave him a traditional MVP soaking by pouring a tub of ice water over his head. Sources said Snoop, “was unhappy because he got wet.” Backstage, there was a panic to find the rapper a fresh pair of clean, dry socks. One staffer was overheard saying, “Snoop isn’t coming out of the locker room because he doesn’t have any socks,” which prompted one official to command a young assistant to, “Take off your socks, Snoop needs a dry pair!” Eventually the star emerged grinning. He then headed to a gifting suite where he was intrigued by a set of hair straighteners, which he began using. The Doggfather asked staffers, “What does it do,” adding, “if it’s free, it’s for me.” He also made off with a bag of Keratin Complex products for women. Pop singer Jordin Sparks arrived with her father, former Giant Phillippi Sparks. Other ex-players included Eddie George and Barry Sanders.
