Harvey Weinstein holding up foreign hit’s release

Harvey Weinstein’s ears must have been burning white-hot on Tuesday night.

At the Museum of Modern Art tribute to Tilda Swinton , Bong Joon-ho — the hotshot Korean filmmaker who recently directed Swinton and Chris Evans in “Snowpiercer” — explained to the fashion-heavy crowd that the sci-fi movie’s release in North America was being held up by the Weinstein Co.

Speaking in his native language, the impish Bong said, “I’d like to show you the movie we worked together, but . . . ” The director then said the name Harvey Weinstein, and the crowd laughed before his translator could speak.

Though “Snowpiercer” is a huge hit in Korea and France, “Harvey Scissorhands” wants to cut 20 minutes out of the dystopian tale.

The director recently told an interviewer that the movie’s European distributor had test-marketed both cuts: “[With] my version the response was much higher than the scores from the Weinstein version.”

At the event, Bong held his hand up to his brow and peered into the audience as if looking for the hard-to-miss Weinstein. “Such a great man,” Bong said.

Joining in the laughter were David Bowie and Iman, Henry and Marie -Josée Kravis, Sofia Coppola, Ralph Fiennes, Anna Wintour and Michael Bloomberg, who had an intense conversation with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Bloomberg said later they were discussing the effects of hemline heights on the stock market. I think he was joking.

Then, New Zealand pop sensation Lorde (who turns 17 Thursday) took the stage and sang three songs, including her monster hit, “Royals.”
