A group of actors, artists, models and at least one rapper took a break from Fashion Week for the premiere of visual artist Matthew Barney’s latest work at BAM.

Spotted in the crowd at the Harvey Theater last week to celebrate Barney and Jonathan Bepler’s six-hour movie “River of Fundament” were Kanye West, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Ellen Burstyn, Rufus Wainwright, Debbie Harry, Marina Abramovic, MoMA PS1 head Klaus Biesenbach, art curator Neville Wakefield and model Lily Donaldson.

The movie took Barney — who reportedly has split with Björk — and his co-director eight years to make.

It is loosely inspired by a Norman Mailer novel, and Barney re-created Mailer’s famously eccentric Brooklyn Heights apartment for one of the film’s sets.
