Bar Refaeli gets $1500 ‘Vampire Facelift’

Here’s a hot beauty treatment you shouldn’t try at home.

Bar Refaeli is the latest beautiful A-lister to indulge in the Vampire Facelift – a $1500 pampering that uses your own blood to rejuvenate your complexion.

The 27-year-old Israeli beauty posted this gory selfie on Instagram before appearing on Israel’s X Factor talent show.

And she’s in glamorous company. Kim Kardsashian kicked off the Vampire Facelift’s celebrity following after posting this picture in March.

If you can afford the controversial facial, you’d need more dollars than sense to go through with it.

It involves drawing blood from the patient’s arm and separating it into platelet-rich plasma using a centrifuge. That’s then combined with Restylane or Juvederm, and injected into the patient’s face to stimulate collagen production – which is said to create new skin and remove fine lines and acne scars.

Success hasn’t been proven in studies and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons isn’t really into it.

Surgeon Dr. Richard Baxter points out it’s not really a facelift, has nothing to do with vampires, and reckons the fad is already in its twilight.
