Museum co-chair faints at Kevin Spacey tribute

Kevin Spacey’s tribute from the Museum of the Moving Image at 583 Park Wednesday was so thrilling, museum co-chair Herb Schlosser, 88, had to be taken to the hospital.

Kim Cattrall joked with Spacey: “I’m sitting on your face.”Splash News

“He was so excited that I was the honoree tonight that he fainted,” Spacey joked. “I had a very nice conversation with him while he was lying on his back.”

We’re told Schlosser is doing fine and that it was a combination of jet lag and the evening’s excitement, which included laudatory speeches from Samuel L. Jackson, Denis Leary and Kate Bosworth.

Spacey also gave a speech, saying to Michael Bloomberg, “I can’t imagine how many of these things a night he [bleeping] gets invited to, and now that he’s not mayor he doesn’t have to show up . . . Kim Cattrall . . . she came over to me . . . and she said, ‘I’m sitting on your face’ ” — a joke based on the fact his mug was on the printed programs placed on seats.

Spacey added of “House of Cards,” “Bringing Frank Underwood to life was one of the most extraordinary experiences I’ve ever had. As Bill Clinton might say, ‘99 percent of what they do on [the show], it’s accurate. And the 1 percent that’s not is that you could never get education bills through that fast.’ ”
