Miley plans wild hosting gig on ‘SNL’

Miley “Molly” Cyrus is preparing for “shock and awe” on “Saturday Night Live,” sources tell Page Six.

We’re told that all the recent controversy over her raunchy behavior — and public battle with Sinead O’Connor — has just “got Miley’s creative juices flowing,” as insiders describe it.

One NBC source told us of the “We Can’t Stop” singer, “She has been coming up with so many wild ideas that Lorne Michaels has had to rein her in. No topless twerking. Her mom is there with her. ”

We’re told the cast members have been jockeying to play O’Connor, who famously tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II on “SNL” in 1992. (We think Bobby Moynihan is perfect.) But another TV source said, “The biggest coup would be to get Sinead herself.”

The artist formerly known as Hannah Montana is hosting “SNL” after a headline-grabbing week during which she posed for a series of provocative pictures for top photographer Terry Richardson and got in a public spat with O’Connor.

O’Connor penned an open letter to Cyrus in response to her Rolling Stone interview, in which Cyrus said O’Connor’s classic music video for “Nothing Compares 2 U” helped inspire her own “Wrecking Ball” video, in which she swings naked on a chain and licks a sledgehammer.

O’Connor warned, “The music business doesn’t give a s – - t about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it’s what YOU wanted.

“You have enough talent that you don’t need to let the music business make a prostitute of you.”

Miley was unmoved, and tweeted, “Before there was Amanda Bynes . . . There was [O’Connor].” Then as the spat continued, “Sinead. I don’t have time to write you an open letter cause Im [sic] hosting & performing on SNL this week.”

This didn’t sit well with O’Connor who posted a third letter, which said, “You can take five minutes today between g-string [bleep]in’ changes to publicly apologise and remove your abusive tweets.”
