Maverick movie director Abel Ferrara had a low-key evening with girlfriend and “Public Enemies” star Shanyn Leigh the other night at the Gates in Chelsea. Ferrara was seen chatting with Willem Dafoe, who stars in his forthcoming flick, “Go Go Tales,” and with a goatee-sporting Matthew Modine, who has starred in three of Ferrara’s films. Modine’s friend, producer Nick Raynes, was also with the group, and was overheard telling folks that he’d just brought on “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson to be his producing partner on his upcoming Miles Davis biopic. Ferrara is currently working on an adaptation of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” starring 50 Cent and Forest Whitaker.
