Former boxing champ Ray Mancini is wooing his pal Mickey Rourke to star in his movie “Monkey’s Nest.”
Mancini is coproducing the drama about a single father with mob connections, who battles to keep his daughter from falling in love with a mob associate.
“It’s a story of a father wanting the best for his child,” Mancini told us. “There’s action, there’s romance . . . it’s a good story.”
Mancini has talked to Rourke about playing the dad’s confidante and hopes to make him an offer within weeks.
