Even New York’s high-end art world is in the throes of March Madness and the run-up to the NBA playoffs.

An exhibition at Jeanne Greenberg-Rohatyn’s downtown gallery Salon 94 Freemans will feature roundball-related pieces, including a 1963 Richard Avedon portrait of Lew Alcindor before he was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and sculptures by Howard Kanovitz, who was assigned by Sports Illustrated in 1968 to capture images of top college prospects, including “Pistol Pete” Maravich, Bob Lanier and Calvin Murphy.

Shortest NBA star Tyrone “Muggsy” Bogues also appears in the show — launching March 28 as curated by art adviser and producer Adam Shopkorn — in a piece by artist Lorna Simpson.
