Oil and commodities trader Jeffrey Schondorf is throwing his daughter Sophie a fancy bat mitzvah at club Marquee — but says it won’t be as lavish as those he threw for his son Zack, 22, and daughter Renee, 21.
Jeffrey and his wife, Nancy, say that despite the fancy 10th Avenue venue, they’re throwing an intimate affair with about 30 of Sophie’s friends on Feb. 8.
“We downsized it from someplace else because I couldn’t afford it,” Jeffrey told us. “Times have changed and I don’t want my girl to feel bad.” The gathering — which still promises a surprise performer — will follow up Zack’s glitzy bar mitzvah at Cipriani Downtown in 2004 and the epic “Renee Takes New York” party he threw in 2006 at the Rainbow Room, which was transformed into a 1940s supper club with a 50-piece marching band.
The theme was inspired by the video for Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man,” and “Dancing With the Stars” cast members re-created the Aguilera video. The bash reportedly cost $1 million.
