The weather was so bad Saturday afternoon, the wayward volunteer who was to parachute into Derek and Daniel Koch’s Day & Night Brunch party at Gurney’s Inn in Montauk carrying a magnum of Dom Pérignon Rosé Luminous couldn’t make the drop. We reported the party duo was offering the service for $25,000 per bottle, which would be “chilled” by the 10,000-foot plunge from a plane. Although someone did purchase the package, a rep confirmed the skydive was nixed, telling us, “It was too dangerous in those conditions.” The Day & Night dive wasn’t the only aerial act that had to be scrapped over the cold and rainy holiday weekend — the Jones Beach Air show was also grounded and rescheduled.
