Lindsay Lohan and Dave Letterman prank call Oprah

Even with the ratings of her mini-series “Lindsay” tanking, Oprah is still there for Lindsay Lohan.

During an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” airing Wednesday, Lohan, 27, teamed up with the retiring late-night host to call the woman responsible for putting her back in the spotlight.

“I think maybe I should just call her right now. Should we call Oprah?” Lohan asks the audience. “I think so. Do you have a phone? Have we got a phone?”

Ultimately Letterman, 66, gives in and puts on his best feminine-sounding voice when Oprah, 60, answers the phone.

“Yes, can I speak to Oprah Winfrey please? Hi, this is, uh, Lindsay Lohan’s secretary.”

“Who is this?” Oprah asks.

“It’s Dave, Oprah. It’s Dave,” he says.

“Very good, Dave! The David Letterman who’s retiring?!” Oprah asks.

“How’s our friend Lindsay doing?” Letterman replies.

“I think she’s doing OK … What do you think? … I think she’s doing really OK. I think to have cameras following you around for every phase of your life and you’re trying to pull your life together, I think that’s a really difficult thing. We’re really pleased that she’s making some progress,” Oprah says as Lohan appears to wipe back tears.

“Lindsay” follows the actress as she struggles to balance her sobriety with her career, but it’s failed to maintain a steady audience. On Sunday, the latest installment of “Lindsay” which aired from 10 to 11 p.m., averaged a mere 390,000 viewers, a steady drop from 603,000 viewers last week.

Lohan is also facing financial troubles, as her credit cards were recently rejected for a $300 purchase at Rag & Bone in SoHo.
